Karmage of 200 grams. Organic and fermented.
Watch out... it's highly addictive! If you do not want to consume cheese and are fond of new flavors, try it. This vegan speciality with plant-based chorizo made from pumpkin, onion, garlic and olive oil, an artisanal specialty from northern Spain. All this gives it a powerful, unique flavor, reminiscent of traditional chorizo, without containing a hint of meat. Perfect for combining with vegetables or as an aperitif, we recommend adding it as a garnish to hot toast - your guests will drool!
Warning: Although you may have reached this page because of the lexical field we use (pressing, curdling, curing, fermenting, melting, semi-cured...), we do not want to mislead any consumer, therefore, we warn that this product is not cheese. It is a vegan product, in other words 100% vegetable, which does not have the same properties as cheese made from animal milk.

Our Karmage Sant Andreu is a vegan, semi-cured, artisan, fermented, and organic speciality mixed with pumpkin based alternative to Chorizo. Gluten-free and healthy. Source of high-quality proteins, healthy fats (omega-3, -6 and -9); probiotics derived from fermentation, tryptophan vitamin B1; minerals such as copper, magnesium, iron, zinc, phosphorus, and selenium.
This semi-cured has poppy seeds among its ingredients. As they are rich in fibre, their consumption helps prevent constipation and regulate intestinal digestion. The zinc, selenium, and essential fatty acids that poppy seeds provide help regulate and strengthen our body’s defences. In addition, their calcium and phosphorus helps remineralise our bones, and their magnesium and potassium content prevents cramps and muscle pain. The contribution of iron, combined with vitamin C, makes poppy seeds a good aid for recovering from iron deficiency anaemia.

It’s a common misconception to think saturated fats are all unhealthy. It’s more a question of knowing which are the harmful ones (processed and/or of animal origin) and which are the healthy ones (in their natural state in plant foods).
Raw vegan alternatives to xxxxxx (forbidden word), made from legumes, nuts, and organic coconut oil contain healthy fats that contribute to cardiovascular health and cholesterol burning.

*Best before: 90 days.
Store in the refrigerator (between 2 and 10°).
Take your semi-cured out of the packaging and keep it in the fridge in a jar, container, plate, or in its cardboard box. It’s recommended to store it uncovered (open box) so that it can "breathe" and continue its curing process. This will enhance its flavour and become drier over time.
In addition, to release its aromas, we recommend taking it out of the fridge for 5 minutes before tasting.
*Use your common senses to determine if your cheese is spoilt. As it is a live fermented product, it will keep for a long time if you follow our storage tips.
COMPOSTABLE AND RECYCLABLE PLASTIC-FREE PACKAGING:
Our packaging does not contain plastic.
You can throw away the cardboard box with the paper. The transparent vacuum bag is compostable in industrial composting conditions (i.e. you have to throw it in the organic waste of your village/neighborhood). Industrial composting is done in specialized composting plants.
